Athletics at Notre Dame are about more than competition—they are about character, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence in every arena. From the court and the field to the gym and the rink, Hounds learn discipline, resilience and respect through sport.
Every practice, every game, every stride builds something deeper: courage and confidence that last long after the final whistle.

Girls’ Basketball
Notre Dame Girls’ Basketball develops student-athletes who are as serious about their team as they are about their studies. Notre Dame’s Prep team competes across Canada and the United States on an elite level playing 30-35 games per year against national and international competition.
Players follow clear development plans, work closely with dedicated coaches and gain exposure to post secondary opportunities at the NCAA, U Sport and CCAA levels while learning to lead, communicate and compete the right way.

Girls’ Volleyball

Notre Dame Girls’ Volleyball blends technical skill, tactical awareness and fitness through school and club teams. Athletes compete at key tournaments in Saskatchewan and beyond while learning to lead, communicate and support their teammates.
Notre Dame’s Club Volleyball program is designed for high-performing student athletes who are passionate about elevating their skills and preparing for collegiate-level play.
Girls’ & Boys’ Rugby
Rugby at Notre Dame is more than a game—it is a vehicle for character, confidence and lifelong friendships. Girls’ and boys’ teams challenge players to raise their game physically, mentally and emotionally, developing resilience, humility and leadership alongside technical skills.
Training focuses on what we call Rugby IQ: understanding space, reading the field and making smart decisions under pressure. We also build four pillars of development—environment, mindset, physical capability and game intelligence—so Hounds learn not just to play the game, but to think it. These habits carry from the pitch into the classroom and into life.

Sports as Formation
At Notre Dame, coaches care about who students become, not just how they perform. Expectations are clear, feedback is direct and support is constant. Sport strengthens mind, body and spirit together, reinforcing the values students learn in class and in residence.
